MonoPole Electrode

Category: Glossary

MonoPole E-Stim Electrodes has a single contact point in the design. E-Stim Electrodes are general described as Bipolar, meaning they have two contacts in the electrode, or Monopole when they have a single contact in the electrode.

For E-Stim to work you will need at least two contact points for the current to flow. With Monopole electrodes, you will need two electrodes.

A Flange electrode is an example of a BiPolar design, an Urethral Sound is an example of a MonoPole Electrode.
